About the project

Passionately Pink Camaro is the fruit of one man’s desire to do what he can to raise funds for breast cancer research. Andrew Herold of Slidel, Louisiana commissioned the building of his beloved 1972 Camaro to Victory Racing Engines of Detroit, Michigan. With the help of over 70 manufactures this vehicle debuted at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas and will be auctioned later this year with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Save The Ta-Tas Foundation
As with all vehicle builds, this one had its fair share of special touches. The ram air style hood was grafted together from MPD1’s 2010 Camaro hood in a classic Dr. Frankenstein-like fashion. Having this 1 off hood made Passionately Pink stand out amongst the crowd of many second-gens at the 2011 SEMA Show. The hood was complimented by billet hinges generously donated to the build by the Ring Brothers. Another special touch was the amazing billet work by Monzter Motorsports of Chicago, Illinois. Travis and Brandon from Monzter created the one of a kind billet grille, tail lights and head light for Passionately Pink which definitely were at hit at the show.
The exterior styling was brought to life by Eric Cusmano, of Cuzie Customs who sprayed on many generous layers of BASF Glasurit Cyber Grey Metallic paint and clear. The paint was shined to a luster by Thomas Stachowicz using the newest in polishing product from Adam’s Polishes.
When it came to handling and suspension Passionately Pink was fortunate enough to partner up with BMR suspension and Airlift Company. BMR shipped over their full torque arm kit with front sway bar. They were gracious enough to send it in raw format so Q.C Coatings of Macomb Township, Michigan could spray them in hot pink powder coat. AirLift Company went above and beyond by sending two of their engineers over to VRE with pen and paper in hand to design the adjustable air suspension. The suspension show ased their new Lifestyle 2 digital controller which will be release in early Summer for retail purchase.
The inside is just as amazing as the outside, with Marquez Design interior panels covered by Advanced Performance Interiors in leather, vinyl and alcantara. The interior has a look that is very modern but not to far away from the cars roots. A lot of guys will take a car like this and go full blast into a numbers matching restoration and a car done that way is awesome, but not what Andrew had in mind. He wanted the Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air heating and cooling, JVC navigation unit, 6 speaker Kicker stereo system and heated seats with massagers that would make the car different the the other 70’s muscle.
To get this project movin’, VRE added a 376cid GM LS2 engine topped with a meticulously polished Magnuson supercharger, Finishline 4l60e transmission, and Master Shift paddle shifter with push button selector. To put the power to the ground Passionately Pink is outfitted with a set of 19″ Fikse wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes rubber. This vehicle is a testament to the excellence that is present at VRE, and the design pays tribute to those who have suffered, survived or lost someone to breast cancer. The project truly put the Human back in Humanity
